I recall a suffocating day when the heat was overwhelming. We were all seeking freshness to protect us from the sun that was beating down too hard on us. We decided to set out for a place where we could feel cool and enjoy the summer without suffering from the heat. We all had different ideas of our final destination. For some, it was the sea, for others a lake or a mountain, a town pool, and the boldest ones even suggested finding an open fire hydrant. Personally, I opted for river banks where I knew we could cool off in the freshwater. For me, it represented an opportunity for visiting a place I had idealized, evoking happy memories. I needed to reconnect with my past, find the emotions I had kept deep down inside me, ones I had left behind. Nostalgia invaded my mind. In my memories, it was a postcard landscape. The grass was a shiny green, the water a deep blue. Everything was perfect, too much so perhaps. Nevertheless, this dreamlike spot brought me instantly into a nostalgic moment of happy memories.
